Measuring Return on Investment

We believe in fast, iterative delivery, so we like to get going with readily available, low-cost technology solutions.

 

Once the business value of our analytics has been proven to customer stakeholders by regularly reporting Return on Investment (ROI) metrics, we can then look - if required - to scale up to more sophisticated or enterprise-level software. (And we can do this in a way that doesn't involve either a hefty migration project nor duplication of effort!)

This approach enables us to focus on delivering immediate and measurable business benefits to our customers, whilst in parallel planning for scalable growth.

Underpinning our sprint delivery framework is a broader process to track analytics solution usage, business insights and actions, and combine them to create Return on Investment metrics.  These measures are agreed with customer stakeholders and reported at the end of each two-week sprint and in a monthly governance meeting; they enable the client to regularly evaluate the effectiveness of their engagement with Dark Spark.

Additionally, conclusions drawn from the regular ROI reporting drive updates to a longer-term analytics roadmap, and in turn, the work requests (backlog items) in scope for forthcoming sprints.  This agile approach gives us the opportunity to quickly shift focus to items that the customer thinks are going to deliver the highest business value, whilst regularly refreshing the organisation's longer-term analytics strategy.
