Delivery Framework

We're not Agile zealots, but we do favour an iterative delivery approach.  The diagram below provides an overview of Dark Spark's standard ways of working.  In conjunction with these, we use metrics such as Sprint Burndown, Velocity and Throughput to continuously monitor and evaluate delivery.

Supporting Delivery Activities

To compliment the 2-week sprints, we also carry out the below, routine activities

Board Meeting

Monthly
Governance Meeting

To aid engagement with senior stakeholders, Dark Spark can either host or participate in monthly meetings to ensure there is appropriate governance in place for our delivery. Example meeting agenda items:

  • Finance

  • Delivery

  • ROI report & business change update

  • IT update

  • Roadmap

  • Risks

Meeting Between Colleagues

Collaboration &
Knowledge Transfer

We understand that a consultancy resourcing model offers a lot of flexibility but isn't a permanent arrangement. For that reason we create and promote multiple opportunities every sprint to collaborate with customer stakeholders and ensure that knowledge is being built up across a range of teams. Example forums:

  •  Daily standup call with a Product Owner/Manager or equivalent

  • Technology update session to walk technical staff through the solutions delivered

  • Review meeting to present the sprint outputs and business value delivered

Documentation

To support knowledge transfer activities, we publish and store information about our solutions every sprint:

  • Entries in a data catalogue

  • Solution architecture diagrams or equivalent

  • Business requirement, approval and delivery detail in a backlog/project management application

If your organisation doesn't already have any of these tools in place, don't worry, we can either find a free/low-cost one or we can create one to get you started.
